Your data stays in Djibouti." url: https://soulthread.group/dj/en/ language: en --- Sovereign Technology Studio # AI and software that stay in your hands We have studied AI and built with it since its early days, and we put that mastery to work for organizations that will not trade privacy for progress: websites, applications, local AI, secure devices, and automation that keep your data in Djibouti, and design, film, and games that carry your story. [Start a project](https://soulthread.group/dj/en/contact/) [See how we keep data home](https://soulthread.group/dj/en/sovereignty/) Why we exist ## Modern capability, without giving up your data Every serious organization in Djibouti now faces the same question: how do you adopt modern software and AI when your data, your patients' records, or your citizens' files have to stay in the country? Most answers involve compromise: older tools, foreign platforms with a local disclaimer, or waiting. We built Soulthread so that nobody has to choose between capability and sovereignty. How we are different - ### Your data never leaves Local inference, deployment on your premises or with a hosting provider in Djibouti, and no silent calls to foreign APIs. Residency is part of our architecture, not a checkbox in a contract. - ### AI we master, on foundations you can inspect We have studied AI and worked with it since its early days, and we know what it can and cannot do. We run it on open-weight models you can audit, on hardware you control, and we build our own products on top. - ### Rooted in heritage, held to a professional standard From a hospital system to a documentary, one team holds every project to the same standard: documented, tested, handed over, and made with respect for the story it carries. What we do ## Sovereign by design, from infrastructure to heritage It starts with the infrastructure that keeps data in Djibouti. The modernization and the institutional systems we build stand on it. [Ask about a project](https://soulthread.group/dj/en/contact/) ### Sovereign infrastructure The foundations: AI that runs on your premises, devices that report to no one else, and data that answers your questions without leaving the building. - #### [Local AI](https://soulthread.group/dj/en/local-ai/) Assistants, document search, transcription, and analysis on open-weight models running on your own servers. No prompt or document leaves your perimeter. Soulthread Technologies is a technology studio whose team has studied and used AI since its early days. We implement local AI, install secure operating systems on phones, handheld terminals, and computers, and analyze data; we develop websites, custom applications, and industrial automation; we build systems for hospitals and public institutions; and we work in design, film, and games. We also offer products of our own, from Diafa PMS to llamanager. ### Where are you based? Our team works from two places: Blida, in Algeria, and Espoo, in Finland. ### Does our data leave the country? Not unless you decide it should. We design systems so that personal and sensitive data is processed and stored on your premises or with a hosting provider in Djibouti. AI models run locally, and every external service a system touches is documented before delivery. In Djibouti, personal data falls under the Digital Code of 6 July 2025 (Law No. 019/AN/23/9ème L). ### Which AI models do you use? Open-weight language, vision, and speech models that you and your regulators can inspect, selected and tuned for your domain and for Arabic and French content. They run on hardware you control. On top of them we build proprietary tools of our own. ### Can you secure our phones and computers? Yes. We install hardened operating systems on phones, handheld terminals, and computers, with encrypted storage, the services that collect data removed, and the apps limited to the ones your work needs. The devices are managed from a server you control, on your premises or with a hosting provider in Djibouti. ### What products do you offer? Six. Two are ready to use: Diafa PMS, our hotel management system, and Read95, our language-learning app. Four more are set up for each client and priced on a quote: llamanager, for running AI models on your own hardware; eye contact correction for recorded video; WhatsApp and SMS integration; and branded video meetings. ### Which languages do you work in? Arabic, French, and English. The websites, apps, and films we deliver can be made in any of the three, including right-to-left interfaces for Arabic. ### Who do you work with? Hospitals, clinics, and laboratories; public administrations and state enterprises; manufacturers and industrial operators; banks, insurers, and telecom and energy operators; and growing private companies, as well as brands, cultural institutions, and educators for our design, film, and games work. ### Will we depend on you once the project is delivered? No. What we build for you is yours to run. We hand over documentation, training, and source access as agreed, so you are never locked in, not even to us. ### How does a project start? Tell us what you are trying to do through our contact page. We reply within two working days with a first take and, if it makes sense, a time to talk. Every conversation is confidential.
