Our mission
Algeria's digitalization, on Algeria's terms
Soulthread Technologies exists to push Algeria's digitalization forward on Algeria's own terms. We build the websites, applications, local AI, secure devices, and automation that organizations need, and the design, film, and games that carry the country's heritage, and we build them so that Algerian data, Algerian intellectual property, and Algerian decision-making stay in Algerian hands.
We are a young company with an old idea: a country that makes its own tools is a country that decides its own future.
Our name
A thread from Algerian heritage
Soulthread is our English rendering of خيط الروح, khit errouh, the name of a traditional Algerian jewel. We chose it because it holds what we want our work to be: made with care, handed down from one generation to the next, and unmistakably Algerian.
The thread runs through everything we make, from the systems that keep a hospital's records safe to the films and games that tell Algeria's stories. It is also where our motto comes from: threaded with Algerian hands.
What sovereignty means to us
Sovereignty is not isolation
We work with global standards, global research, and global partners. What we refuse is dependency: the situation where a bank, a hospital, or a ministry cannot operate if a provider on another continent changes its terms, its pricing, or its politics. In practice, that means three commitments.
Data stays home
We design systems so that personal and sensitive data is processed and stored in Algeria, and where required, inside the client's own premises. AI models run locally. Nothing leaves without a decision by the owner of the data.
Foundations you can inspect
Where we use AI, we build on open-weight models that can be audited by our clients and their regulators. On top of those foundations, we develop proprietary products that belong to us, and by extension to Algeria's technology economy.
Independence that protects people
Privacy, the integrity of sensitive information, and open public discourse all depend on infrastructure that no outside actor can quietly switch off or tilt. We build for resilience so that Algerians can speak, decide, and disagree on platforms whose incentives they can see.
Why a studio
Why a studio, not just a software company
Digitalization is not only code. It is the phone an official carries, the interface a citizen sees, the archive that keeps a country's memory, the film that explains a public service, the game a student learns from, the office where a team works, and the dashboard a director trusts.
We brought sovereign infrastructure, modernization, institutional systems, and creative work under one roof because the product and the story around it should come from the same standard of care, and because a country's heritage deserves the same professionalism as its hospitals.
How we work
Four habits we keep on every project
Discovery before delivery
We start by understanding the problem, the users, and the legal constraints, then design the smallest thing that solves it well.
Local by default
Hosting, inference, and storage are planned for Algerian infrastructure from the first architecture diagram.
Documented and transferable
What we build for you is yours to run. We hand over documentation, training, and source access as agreed, so you are never locked in, not even to us.
Honest about trade-offs
Local AI is sometimes slower or costlier than a foreign cloud. We tell you when, and we show you what you gain in return.
Our values
What we hold to
Craft
Good enough is not our standard.
Trust
We handle data the way we would want ours handled.
Ambition
We want Algerian technology to be exported, not only imported.
Openness
Independent from foreign control, open to the world's ideas.
