Modern software and AI, on your own terms
Soulthread Technologies exists so that organizations in Tunisia can adopt modern software and AI without handing control of their data to anyone else. We build the websites, applications, local AI, secure devices, and data systems they need, and we build them so that their data, their intellectual property, and their decisions stay in their own hands.
Our name
A name from Algerian heritage
Soulthread is our English rendering of خيط الروح, khit errouh, the name of a traditional Algerian jewel. We chose it because it holds what we want our work to be: made with care, and handed down from one generation to the next.
What sovereignty means to us
Sovereignty is not isolation
We work with global standards, global research, and global partners. What we refuse is dependency: the situation where a bank, a hospital, or a ministry cannot operate if a provider on another continent changes its terms, its pricing, or its politics. In practice, that means three commitments.
Data stays home
We design systems so that personal and sensitive data is processed and stored in Tunisia, on the client's own premises or with a hosting provider it chooses. AI models run locally. Nothing leaves without a decision by the owner of the data.
Foundations you can inspect
Where we use AI, we build on open-weight models that can be audited by our clients and their regulators. Our own products sit on top of those foundations.
Independence that protects people
Privacy, the integrity of sensitive information, and open public discourse all depend on infrastructure that no outside actor can quietly switch off or tilt. We build for resilience so that people can speak, decide, and disagree on platforms whose incentives they can see.

From Blida and Espoo
Our team works from Blida, in Algeria, and Espoo, in Finland, in Arabic, French, and English. We work with organizations in Tunisia from there.

Discovery before delivery
We start by understanding the problem, the users, and the legal constraints, then design the smallest thing that solves it well.
Local by default
Hosting, inference, and storage are planned from the first architecture diagram for your premises or a hosting provider you choose in Tunisia.
Documented and transferable
What we build for you is yours to run. We hand over documentation, training, and source access as agreed, so you are never locked in, not even to us.
Honest about trade-offs
Local AI is sometimes slower or costlier than a foreign cloud. We tell you when, and we show you what you gain in return.
